This beautiful yellow-red potato has a very good flavor that seems to come straight from wild potatoes: almond and chestnut aromas. The creamy mouthfeel reveals a very fine-grained texture. Most seedlings will be Phytophthora-resistant. Cook them unpeeled, and the potato will leave red marks under the red part of the skin, very nice to see!
Our Swiss potato enthusiast Stefan Griesser grows interesting potatoes from seed and turns them into well-reproducible seed-bearing varieties. We include some of these varieties in our assortment, hoping that hobbyists or small growers will enjoy growing them. Sowing potatoes is a fun adventure, which is normal for breeders of new varieties! The initial cultivation is just like with tomatoes: sow, prick out and plant out in April-May (no night frost!)
