AUTUMN-FLOWERING. The flowers, which resemble those of Cyclamen hederifolium, emerge at the end of summer, just before or together with the leaves. What's special is that the flower stem coils up like a corkscrew from the middle of the stem, unlike most other species where this happens from the top of the stem. Its leaves are beautifully silver-green, often with a dark green outer edge. (text: partly from Wikipedia) Give this cyclamen a very warm spot in summer, possibly in a greenhouse, otherwise they won't bloom. Keep moist and plant in well-drained soil with some pine needle compost. Protect well during severe winters.
It is not difficult to offer rare cyclamen tubers. Whether or not plundered from the wild, there is a lively trade worldwide. It's a shame that only some of the tubers truly thrive in the garden. We have the solution for you: every species we supply is grown in a pot in the Netherlands and has already produced leaves, so we dare to guarantee regrowth! When planting out, mix the potting soil from the pots with the surrounding soil, otherwise the tubers may remain too wet.
