Violet-blue with dark purple to black heart, single-flowered.
By far the most famous anemone, loved throughout time as a cut flower and introduced to our country from France around 1850. There are two known types: the De Caen type with large, beautifully colored, single flowers and the St. Brigid type with semi-double flowers and rather narrow petals. They prefer fertile, humus-rich soil and, with some winter cover, are sufficiently frost-hardy. Height 25 cm.
