Where does a cork on a bottle come from? Cork is a beautiful, natural base for many products and all comes from the Cork Oak. A very sustainable product, because after "peeling" the bark, it regrows in 19 years. This subtropical Oak is not yet hardy in our climate, but has now survived many winters because you can easily wrap them during (rare) severe frost. It is a very graceful tree because the trunk naturally corks beautifully, but also the holly-like leaves (evergreen) and the beautiful, large acorns are worth seeing!
