Queen of the Night
- Product number: 842500.1
- Origin: South America
- Latin: Epiphyllum oxypetalum
This tropical orchid cactus is very popular in Asia, but is not as well-known here. The wonder occurs in summer: a few thick flower buds appear, each of which blooms fully for 1 night. The astonishingly beautiful, bowl-shaped, pure white flowers emit a wonderfully sweet scent. You have to be there to experience it! It's no wonder that in India people are allowed to make a wish during this fantastic bloom... We should introduce that in the Netherlands too. In summer, the plant can go outside, in winter it should be kept cool and drier to inhibit growth. The plant can grow quite large.
