We first thought: nice... a mint with a chocolate aroma. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be the most delicious mint to combine with chocolate in dessert or cake. But this mint is also wonderfully fresh in tea. The light purple flower spikes bloom from bottom to top.
Most mint varieties of the genus Mentha grow in the sun or in the shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor are achieved. Each species goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there is the upward growth spurt before flowering. Afterwards, horizontally (hard) growing runners develop, which grow into new plants elsewhere. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
