In our country, this creeper is becoming popular as a groundcover instead of a lawn.
It is also very successful as green roofing.
Severe winters are poorly tolerated, especially in wetter soils (mulching helps!), but otherwise, it is a problem-free and ornamental plant, also in (hanging) pots.
Give them a sunny spot, moisture is preferred, but drought is well tolerated. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the verbena-like flowers, which are lilac to yellow in color. The tea has a healing effect on fever (inflammation) and skin conditions (eczema, pimples, minor burns).
