A basil plant of unparalleled beauty and hardier than most other varieties. The leaves are green with purple veins and purple stems, and the blue flowers bloom in sturdy, elongated clusters (like a Veronica) until September. The plants can be brought indoors as temperatures cool in September and overwinter reasonably well at temperatures above 5°C.
And let's not forget the taste: it is aromatic like Italian basil, but slightly spicier with a pleasant, sparkling aftertaste.
