A wonderfully fresh and fruity sage that smells just like pineapple! Its bright, yellow-green leaves are chopped and added to fruit salads and cold fruit juices, or used whole in tea. The slightly sweet-scented, edible flowers decorate salads and desserts. It is also, of course, used in meat dishes, and why not add it to cake batter? Fresh and aromatic. The plant grows broadly and blooms very late in autumn with bright red, tubular flowers at a height of about 1 m. Give the plant a slightly shaded spot and well-drained soil; in mild winters or with good protection, the plant will survive. It can also be potted and stored in the shed during frost. Pruning it back annually helps the shrubby plant to rejuvenate. Propagation by cuttings is very easy.
