SOLD OUT! (1878) Breeder Gottlieb Goeschke. This first serious German breeder cultivated 20 top varieties. Two of them ('Hohenzollern' and this variety) remained in use the longest and even remained very popular until the early 1950s. Now that taste is becoming more important than production, there are plenty of opportunities again for this aromatic strawberry. The rather small fruits come in a considerable number from the plant! They are round to conical, with very soft flesh, firm seeds (good for digestion), and a pleasantly tart aftertaste. Give them sufficient fertilizer and not too wet soil (ridge cultivation). (bnkk)
Our strawberry collection partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only available in limited quantities. Therefore, the waiting time can be long. Annually in July, a new crop is potted by our grower, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can supplement a part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs apply for any subsequent deliveries.
