BEAUTIFUL DESIGN VERSION OF THE FUNCTIONAL BUCKETS (SEE 850210)
Ferment instead of compost!
With the Bokashi kitchen bucket, you can ferment your own kitchen waste indoors. By mixing kitchen waste with a little Bokashi-starter (850220), valuable organic material is created. The added Effective Microorganisms in the Bokashi-starter ensure that the fresh organic waste present ferments and does not rot.
Dimensions of the buckets: 34cm high and 24cm in diameter.
How to use this kitchen bucket
You can make your own organic Bokashi from finely chopped kitchen waste and any other type of plant remains. With proper fermentation, rotting and bad odors stand no chance.

Preparation:
1. Cut organic waste into small pieces.
2. Spread a small amount of Bokashi-starter on the bottom of the kitchen bucket.
3. Place a layer of fresh organic waste in the bucket.
4. Spread another small amount of Bokashi-starter on the organic waste.
5. Press down the organic waste.
6. Close the Bokashi kitchen bucket tightly with the lid.
7. Repeat this process until the bucket is full.
8. Drain the collected liquid daily. This liquid can be used as plant food for indoor and garden plants. Dilute the Bokashi liquid with 100 parts water.
9. Let the organic waste ferment in the Bokashi kitchen bucket for 1-2 weeks.
10. The organic Bokashi is ready when it has a sweet-sour smell.
11. It can now be directly incorporated into the soil of the garden or stored with other compost, to be incorporated later.

Bokashi provides:
- Good nutrition for soil life.
- A detoxifying effect on the soil.
- A good living environment for microorganisms.
- Faster availability of absorbable nutrients for the plant.

The Effective Microorganisms present in Bokashi ensure:
- The production of various important bio-active substances, such as enzymes, natural antibiotics and growth hormones, vitamins and antioxidants.
- A shift towards a constructive disease-suppressing soil.
- Greater microbial diversity and activity.

Why ferment instead of compost?
If done correctly:
- Ideal for Eco-People with a small garden, terrace, roof garden, or balcony.
- No mold development.
- No unwanted seed dispersal.
- Even stubborn plant roots cannot re-root (e.g., ground elder or Aegopodium podagraria).

Japanese Prof. Teruo Higa specializes in the effective application of microorganisms. The use of these products leads to less waste, limits the need for additional fertilization, restores soil health, and strengthens the resistance of plants and animals! See also www.em-natuurlijk-actief.com
