A fairly hardy relative of the Agapanthus, so for safety's sake, plant it in a pot, unless the soil drains well, then planting it in the open ground is well worth the risk. Both the leaves and the (lilac) flowers of this elegant plant are edible and have a mild to strong garlic aroma! The Zulus have a long tradition with this plant: flavouring, stimulating and medicinal. We supply the variegated variety, which brings extra ornamental value in addition to flavour!
