(1955) At a height of 90 cm, this improvement on the historic ‘Felix Crousse’ blooms with dark wine-red, very double flowers that are lightly scented. Excellent for cutting, but also long-blooming in the garden and beautiful thanks to its sturdy foliage!
After years of experience in the Netherlands, our grower has put together a TOP assortment of the most beautiful and successful peonies.
They grow in all soil types:
In clay, growth is trouble-free; do not over-fertilize and ensure good drainage.
In sandy soil, the plants remain somewhat smaller; sufficient fertilization keeps the plant in good condition.
In peat soil, growth is generally good, but the plants will need to be transplanted or replaced slightly earlier.
Place peonies in a sunny spot, plant them (immediately upon arrival) so shallowly that only a few cm of soil covers the buds, and firm the soil first.
We supply bare roots; each plant has grown for 4-5 years, so the chance of early blooming is high! Some varieties grow into their intended (double) form as they get older. Colors may vary slightly from year to year and depend on the preceding winter cold. Because we have to wait until the plants have died off naturally, the bare roots are available EARLIEST FROM OCTOBER.
