(1949) This Japanese or anemone-flowered type (grown in the Netherlands) owes its name to its structure: single rows of lilac-pink outer petals, creating a bowl shape (Bowl). In the centre, yellow petaloid stamens shine. Good flowering from early June. The plant has a slightly rounded shape and grows to 90 cm high.
After years of experience in the Netherlands, our grower has put together a TOP assortment of the most beautiful and successful peonies.
They grow in all types of soil:
In clay, growth is trouble-free; do not fertilise too heavily and ensure good drainage.
In sandy soil, the plants remain somewhat smaller; sufficient fertilising keeps the plant in good condition.
In peat soil, growth is generally good, but the plants will need to be transplanted or replaced slightly earlier.
Place peonies in a sunny spot and plant them (immediately upon arrival) so shallowly that only a few cm of soil covers the crown; firm the soil first.
We supply bare roots; each plant has been growing for 4–5 years, so the chance of early flowering is high! Some varieties grow into their intended (double) form as they get older. Colours may vary slightly from year to year and depend on the preceding winter cold. Because we have to wait for the plants to die back naturally, the bare roots will be AVAILABLE FROM OCTOBER AT THE EARLIEST.
