Sinningia tubiflora

RARE!
Our grower has been cultivating this beautiful variety for many years and rediscovered it in England. This relative of the well-known Gloxinia, as well as the red Lipstick Plant (all Gesneriads), has, like most of its siblings, rather thick and hairy leaves. This indicates drought resistance... The drier and sunnier it is, the more intense the color and hairiness (don't overdo it, of course). Give the tubers airy soil (mix potting soil with coco peat and silver sand) and start them indoors in March-April. From late May, they can go outside, and from the dense leaf base, the plants will reward you with clusters of white, pipe-shaped flowers, which also have a wonderful scent! In mild winters and with good leaf protection, the tubers will also do well outdoors. Grow this easy plant with pleasure and spread the tubers among your friends and family, this plant deserves to become much more known!
