This unknown plant genus harbors many beauties, and like Solomon's Seal (a well-known relative of Disporum), Fairy Bells prefers shade, moisture, and plenty of humus. The reddish-brown leaves unfold from rapidly growing deep brown shoots, after which the cream-white bell-shaped flowers beautifully contrast with the deep dark foliage and the dark purple 100 cm high stems. In autumn, the flowers ripen into purplish-black berries. The plants need a few years to establish themselves properly.
