This unknown plant genus harbours many beauties, this is one of the largest and is somewhat reminiscent of the more familiar Solomon's Seal. Like the latter, the Fairy Bell prefers shade, moisture, and plenty of humus. The deep green leaves unfurl from the rapidly growing rhizomes, after which the creamy white bells beautifully contrast with the dark foliage and the purple 120 cm high stems. In autumn, the flowers ripen into purplish-black berries. The plants need a few years to establish themselves properly.
