(± 2024) Parents: Rudolf x Zina Red.
A beautiful, waxy potato with bright red skin and yellow flesh. The long-oval tubers are remarkably productive when harvested early, but you can also leave them in the ground a little longer (in dry weather), then they store well. Rozine gives good results on clay as well as sandy soil; with an early harvest, the chance of damage from Phytophthora is quite small.
WAXY VARIETY FOR GOURMETS.
We have grouped the waxy varieties together, as their taste differs considerably from the rest. They remain very firm after cooking, so they definitely do not fall apart, and have a waxy firm texture. After cooling, the tubers are still a delicacy and are used, for example, for salads. Most waxy varieties are mid-early to late harvestable: taste simply takes time to develop…! Plant from mid-April, when the soil is warm enough. Pre-sprouting in the light or in a large pot is allowed earlier. Do not place them in too wet a spot, but well in the sun. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm; we advise maintaining 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
