Parents: Cécile x Red Scarlett
These elongated, red-skinned potatoes receive very high marks in taste tests! A real asset for lovers of a rather firm potato. The yield is quite high and the disease resistance is fair to high. Due to the abundant foliage, it is best to give this variety ample planting distance and plant the tubers a little deeper.
MEDIUM-EARLY VARIETY FOR GOURMETS.
A medium-early variety means it can be harvested from August. Harvesting can be brought forward by several weeks by planting earlier. The planting time is from mid-April, when the soil has sufficient warmth. Pre-sprouting in light or in a large pot can be done earlier. Do not plant them in too wet a spot, but in good sun. Medium-early varieties can suffer from the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Some preventive measures are: spacious planting, fertilizing with patentkali, do not spray water on the plant, and possibly organic spraying with sulfur or silinal. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm; we recommend 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.
