A unique giant, originating from a (bee) cross between Allium christophii and Allium macleanii on Jan Bijl's test fields. The spherical flower head can reach a diameter of 20 cm and contains approximately 1500 purple-violet florets. This giant colours the garden throughout June and then dries up gracefully for months... The foliage remains green during flowering, which is unique!
Ornamental onions (or ornamental garlic) are extremely popular! They bloom from May, a time when the garden chairs can be brought out!
