Mila van der Linden ❞It wouldn't surprise me if you're reading this all over the world. Some perhaps with a cocktail in hand on the beach, others simply at home in the garden or on the balcony – enjoying the beautiful weather.
Anyway:
I hope you all have a wonderful summer and can truly relax!
Behind the scenes, we are busy giving our website a fresh, new look. And a new look, of course, calls for new photos!
That's why we're putting out a call to all of you – our loyal gardeners. You've probably been busy harvesting lately, and there's likely still plenty in bloom or ready to be harvested soon. Flowers, herbs, vegetables… we are incredibly curious to see what you've all grown this year!
We are looking for clear, beautiful photos where the product is clearly visible. This way, future customers can see exactly what to expect.
Do you have beautiful photos of your harvest or blooming plants? Please send them in!
How great would it be to see your own photo on our revamped website?
Email your photos to: vreekensfotos@gmail.com
Don't forget to mention which product it is and the specific variety.
Thank you in advance for your ideas and submissions!
There's still room for one last, extra-sharp offer!
With this large package, we're clearing out our cold storage and attic, like a sweep car tidying everything up. This is, of course, important, as we're making space for the beautiful autumn and spring bloomers that will be arriving soon.
You now benefit from discounts of 60 to 75%, so seize the opportunity!
There's a chance these plants will still bloom this year, especially now that our summers are getting longer. If they don't bloom this year, they will simply reappear next spring. It is important to overwinter them frost-free — so protect them or temporarily remove them from their pots.
Although winters are becoming milder and it's sometimes not strictly necessary, this naturally remains your own responsibility.

329000 Rock samphireRock samphire is an indigenous umbellifer that grows naturally along the coast. Like many plants that grow in such conditions, rock samphire has short, thick leaves to prevent evaporation and thus lose as little water as possible. The plant does not tolerate severe frost well, so some winter protection is recommended. Rock samphire has a distinct, aromatic taste with the characteristic salty flavour also found in other sea vegetables. A special addition to your garden and your plate!

355600 Neem TreeOriginally, this evergreen tree comes from India and Sri Lanka, but nowadays it grows in large parts of the tropics. Here, it is a strong tub or houseplant, which can be excellently maintained in a spacious pot. In Asia, the Neem tree is known as the "wonder tree" or "village pharmacy," due to its many medicinal applications. Its branches are used by hundreds of millions of people as a natural toothbrush! The Neem tree also has great value as an insect repellent – for example, in some areas it is used to combat malaria.

357700 Roman chamomileRoman chamomile is known for its remarkable effect: place this plant next to a wilting garden plant, and you will often see it recover! Additionally, you can make a soothing tea from the flower heads – similar to true chamomile. Roman chamomile is also popular as **lawn chamomile** because the plant stays low and is reasonably resistant to foot traffic. After touching or walking on it, the plant emits a delightful scent (which are in fact small "pain signals" from the plant itself). **Perennial, fragrant, and surprisingly useful!**

559500 Ursinia anthemoidesThis brightly colored bloomer grows to about 30 cm tall and has a compact, bushy habit – perfect for the garden or in pots. The bright orange petals contrast beautifully with the dark ring around the flower's heart. And it is precisely this ring that is extra attractive to bees and other insects!
The plant has fine, delicate foliage reminiscent of Anthemis. Fine foliage is often a sign of drought resistance – and that is true here too. Nevertheless, this plant can surprisingly well tolerate both wet and dry conditions, as long as it is in the sun!

596520 Lupinus 'Noble Maiden'He's back. From the famous Russell Hybrid series – a classic line with beautiful, often bi-colored shades. This lupine has sturdy, tall stems (up to approx. 1 meter), making it ideal for the back of the border. Place it in a sunny spot, but avoid overly wet soil: constantly wet feet are not its favorite. Preferably not in a spot where it's too windy – that's when it looks its best.

603400 Scabiosa 'Perfection Blue'A special sight in the garden! This variety has beautiful lavender-blue, double flowers of striking beauty. The plants grow to about 60 cm high, making them perfect for borders or larger pots.
A real eye-catcher that also attracts bees and butterflies!

Plastic coversWe've always sold our propagators as a set – a bottom tray with a plastic lid, allowing you to regulate the heat effectively. Of course, this complete set is still available. But from now on, you can also order separate lids! Do you still have a bottom tray, but your lid is damaged or lost? Then you don't need to buy the entire set again. Convenient and sustainable!

807260 Snail Trap 'Slug-X' G93We've received a new large shipment of one of the most effective slug traps on the market. This trap has been named a "Best Buy" multiple times in England – and for good reason. The lure? Just beer.
But unlike many other traps, with this one, the beer vapor circulates inside, making it extra effective.
Dozens – sometimes over 100! – slugs per night is not uncommon.

For the past two weeks, I've had a wonderful vacation. Although it didn't start so well, because the week before I was quite ill with a severe sore throat. My body always seems to know exactly when I'm finally going to take a break — because then I always get sick.
During my vacation, I didn't actually do much, and that was just perfect. I mostly relaxed and spent a few days away. What I did do faithfully, though: swim laps in the pool almost every day. And I'm so happy about that — it feels good to have picked that up again!
Furthermore, I looked up my rainbow cucumber rival (yes, that's still a thing), and I cycled 50 km back and forth to beautiful Brabant.
I enjoyed Big Rivers here in Dordrecht, wandered around Rotterdam for a day, and of course, fulfilled my aunt duties: went to the petting zoo with my sister and my 17-month-old nephew.
And last but not least: I've completely picked up gaming again. Stardew Valley is back in full swing — I'm really playing the game to death.
All in all: it was two wonderful weeks, and I'm completely recharged and ready to get back to work!
Until next time!
