Ruben Koppert ❞Summer is a time when the garden is both generous and demanding. There's plenty to harvest already, but there's also ample room to sow more, replenish, or try something special. That's why this week we've gathered some great choices for you. From fragrant kitchen herbs and a classic bean variety to unique edible plants and practical garden helpers.
A few fresh herbs immediately make cooking more enjoyable. Especially when they come straight from your own garden, greenhouse, or pot. These varieties pair well with summer dishes, salads, sauces, and preserves.

ThymeThyme is one of those herbs that grows humbly but adds a lot. Its small leaves have a powerful, herbaceous flavor and pair well with potatoes, roasted vegetables, stews, sauces, and marinades.
In the garden, thyme is also a lovely plant. It loves sun, warmth, and well-drained soil. Avoid giving it wet feet; it thrives best in a dry, sunny spot. Thyme also does well in pots or containers, especially on a warm patio or balcony. In addition, thyme is valuable for insects. During flowering, it attracts bees, butterflies, and other beneficial visitors. Thus, it is not only a kitchen herb but also a beautiful contribution to a vibrant garden.

342000 – DillDill is one of those herbs that immediately evokes summer. Its delicate leaves pair well with cucumber, potatoes, fish, and fresh sauces. The unripe seeds can also be used, for example, when pickling gherkins or cucumbers.
You can sow dill outdoors, or try growing it in pots. Keep the soil slightly moist and, if desired, sow in small batches consecutively, so you can harvest for longer.
✽
342100 – Dill ‘Elephant’Dill 'Elephant' forms sturdy plants with plenty of deep green leaves. Flowering is somewhat slower, resulting in high leaf production. Handy if you are mainly growing it for its foliage. A good choice for those who like to sow a bit more broadly and regularly want to snip fresh dill for the kitchen.

334730 – Chives ‘Fine’Chives are an essential herb for any edible garden. The delicate stalks are delicious with potatoes, salads, soups, and egg dishes. If you cut the plant, it will often grow back beautifully.
This variety is hardy and also suitable for those who like to plant perennial herbs in their garden. Once well established, you will enjoy it for a long time.
Some varieties have a name that sticks. And sometimes a story too. This bean certainly belongs in that category.

046065 – French Bean 'Koning der Belgen' / 'Roi des Belges'A historic bean variety that has been loved since 1920. 'Koning der Belgen' (King of the Belgians) is known as an early, tasty bush bean. Because the variety is reasonably resistant to cooler conditions, it is also interesting for those who want to sow beans later in the season.
Sow beans in a warm spot and preferably not just before a wet period. Beans love warmth and, with good growth, yield a nice, rewarding harvest.
For everyone looking beyond the standard vegetable garden, we have selected some beautiful plants. Some are well-known from the kitchen, while others are true discoveries.

831415.2 – Kaffir LimeDjeroek Poeroet, also known as wild lime, is loved for its aromatic leaves. The scent and flavour are fresh, spicy, and unmistakably Asian. The leaves are often cooked with soups, sauces, and curries.
The plant grows well in a pot. In the warmer months, it can be placed outdoors, but in autumn, it needs to be brought back inside. Give it a light spot, sufficient nutrients, and don't let the pot dry out.

880009 – Sweet Potato SurpriseFor those who want to try something special, we have put together a nice package with 10 sweet potato plants. Which varieties are included remains a surprise. That's what makes the package extra fun: you'll discover for yourself which sweet potatoes do well with you.
Sweet potatoes are heat-loving plants. In Northern Europe, cultivation is becoming increasingly successful, especially in a sunny spot and in well-warmed soil. For example, plant them on ridges and help the soil retain heat with black foil or Bio Fiber Mulch.
Normally this package has a value of € 15.80, but we offer it for € 13.50.
✽
831250.1 – Bush PeanutA special creeping or climbing plant with a surprising characteristic: after flowering, small nuts form underground. These can be eaten raw, roasted, or baked after shelling.
Bush peanut likes humus-rich soil and thrives in partial shade. Great for gardeners who like to try something you don't often find in a standard garden center.
✽
830990 – Strawberry Collection 'Summer Kings'For those who find it difficult to choose from the strawberry assortment, this collection is ideal. You will receive a varied selection with at least 5 different varieties per pack of 9 plants.
This makes this collection not only delicious but also fun: you'll discover which varieties thrive in your garden and which taste becomes your favourite.

Only 15 of this batch are still available. So don't wait too long if you still want to plant asparagus.
A vibrant garden sometimes also requires practical help. Especially in a season when snails are active and young garden helpers are eager to join in.
✽
807620 – Slug Trap “Slug-X” G93Snails can cause considerable damage in a short time, especially to young plants. This snail trap uses beer as bait and its flat shape makes it easy to use in various places in the garden.
A practical choice for those who want to better protect vulnerable seedlings, young vegetable plants, or beloved border plants.
✽
849350 – Gloves for kidsGardening is even more fun when children can join in. These cheerful children's gloves protect small hands from dirt and provide extra grip thanks to the nubs on the palm. Great for young helpers who want to sow, water, harvest, or just generally potter around in the garden.
During this period, you truly notice how quickly a garden can change. One week something seems small, and you wonder if it will amount to anything. Fortunately, a few weeks later, it suddenly bursts into leaf, bloom, or fruit. That remains the most enjoyable part of growing things yourself!
Meanwhile, things are also in full swing for us; we've been very busy over the past months, and for that, we naturally want to thank all of you!
In the coming weeks, we will again take a full inventory the old-fashioned way. This is also so that we can soon switch to our new webshop. We kept it quiet for a while because there was quite a lot of administrative work to be arranged, but fortunately, that's all behind us. We will let you know more soon!
