No. 17: Refresh memory

❝

Of course... we grant you those hours spent behind a good book or "couch-potatoing" in front of an exciting movie. I'm just giving you some ideas to keep your fingers green!

The room as a breeding ground

More and more people are enjoying indoor cultivation. You can easily grow herbs and microgreens in a pot or on a mat in a bright spot. Harvest young and start again: wonderfully fresh and a beautiful and healthy addition to your dishes!

Growing sprouts (without soil or a mat) requires a bit more technique. We have a simple rinsing device, the Bioset, and it works fantastic, but success depends on the regularity with which you rinse the seeds. The fully automatic Vitaseed Sprouting Drum is ideal for this; it's a small version of professional sprouting drums, guaranteeing success. Take a look!

Light enough

For indoor cultivation, light is essential; I've mentioned this before. In winter, days are short, and behind a window, you already lose 50% of the light that's on the other side of that window. Light ensures your plants (for example, your newly germinated seeds) grow compact and sturdy. That's why insufficient light causes your plants to become long and thin. We have a wide range of very good plant lighting in our assortment, economical and effective – take a look.

Waving goodbye!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been busy preparing for the next bulb season. Although I always love looking at all those beautiful tulips, daffodils, and other spring-flowering bulbs, it’s always a lot of work! But it’s done now, and I hope you can fully enjoy them from September onwards.

Last week, I also harvested my onions and garlic, and I’m really proud of my red onions. Usually, we don't have much luck with onions in the garden here, but this time it actually worked out! Now I’ll let them dry for a bit, and soon I'll be able to enjoy them.

This weekend, I think I’ll just relax and perhaps go to a swimming pool with some friends. Although I have a feeling that all of Dordrecht will be there too… So we’ll see!
