Mg is a building block for chlorophyll (leaf green), so a lack of Mg is immediately visible in the color of the leaf: the veins often remain green, but the rest turns yellow. Evergreen plants (conifers, cherry laurel, Viburnum, etc.) must receive Mg in time, otherwise the perennial leaves will discolour and the plant will become less attractive.
