An anhydrous beeswax-based sealant to prevent desiccation of the graft and rootstock. Melt the Grafting Wax and apply it with a brush or wooden spatula.
When melting and using, never exceed a temperature of 80°C; check the temperature with a thermometer. Preferably use a grafting wax pot or a double boiler with a water jacket (bain-marie). The Grafting Wax can be melted multiple times for use.
It is not recommended to combine this product with other agents.
The gaps between the scion and rootstock should be carefully sealed so that the exposed cambium layer and the connection between the scion and rootstock are no longer in contact with the outside air. This prevents the wood from drying out. The tip of the scion should also be coated. If, due to strong growth swelling, gaps appear in the grafting wax layer before the scion and rootstock have fused, these should be re-sealed. When checking for successful grafting, the grafting wax layer should also be inspected for any openings. The Grafting Wax does not crack in penetrating cold but can form droplets at extremely high temperatures (>50°C) in the greenhouse. We divide our blocks into approximately 100g portions.
