This small, slow-growing Linden is an ideal and important tree as a food plant; its white, fragrant blossoms are gratefully visited by bees and butterflies. The tips of the serrated leaves have elegant outgrowths: the "eyelashes" of the tree! The young leaves are beautifully pink-tinged, and in autumn, they mature to yellow.
