I couldn't resist buying this beauty...
The Albizia is becoming increasingly popular in our country because the small tree is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but also increasingly able to survive our winters.
Its feathered leaves and unusual flowers are reminiscent of the Mimosa, to which this plant is closely related. This variety has chocolate brown leaves, which, together with the pinkish-white blooms, create a very captivating combination!
The flowers consist of silky stamens in a fan shape, with a white base and light lilac-pink tips.
In sheltered city gardens, the tree can safely be planted in the ground; if severe frost occurs, you can wrap the plant in acrylic fabric. If you live more "out in the sticks," plant it in a large pot and move it into a shed or greenhouse during frost.
The plant is (naturally) deciduous; another interesting fact about its leaves: they close at night, hence the name Silk Tree.
