Miracle berry

  • Product number: 831892.1
  • Origin: West Africa
  • Latin: Synsepalum dulcificum, also known as Sideroxylon dulcificum

You won't believe your own tastebuds... The berries of this shrub fool your taste buds, turning sour or bitter food into a pleasantly sweet experience. The effect lasts for about 1 hour. The berries themselves are not sweet, rather neutral in taste, and contain the substance Miraculin. These West African fruits have probably been used by local inhabitants for centuries. In 1725, the effect became known in Europe through the explorer Chevalier des Marchais. From its origin, you can deduce that the plant cannot withstand frost: indoors in winter, therefore... After a few years of growth, the plant will bear fruit.
