This perennial chamomile is the most prostrate variety available. Because the plants hardly flower (so not available from seed!), they remain compact and form a beautiful scented carpet! The finely feathered leaves in a bright green colour are an ornament. It is often written that it is a nice grass substitute, but you really shouldn't walk on it too often; barefoot is best. Of course, the leaves are edible and can be used to flavour salads.
