Hops 'Berlaarse Bitter'

  • Product number: 831651.1
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Humulus lupulus

Firstly, hops are naturally famous for the bitter substance in beer (lupulin), which was formerly used as a preservative and is now an essential and popular bitter flavour.
Furthermore, the preparation of a medicinal tea (often in combination with other herbs) is well-known. Recently, the harvesting of YOUNG HOP SHOOTS has been "discovered" as a tasty spring delicacy. Only female plants produce the beautiful hop cones. Because both male and female plants grow from seed, we have decided to offer you professional root cuttings.
Guarantee: 100% female. Hops are a fast-growing climbing plant, which sometimes 'takes over' a wall due to its rough stems and leaves. Sun is important for abundant flowering; the hanging "cones" appear in autumn.
This variety has been growing in Berlaar, Belgium, since time immemorial.
