Ever-bearing Strawberry 'Mara des Bois'

(1992) Fairly small fruits with a flavour and aroma that surprise and evoke wild strawberries, but sweeter! During critical breeding work by Marionnet, this exceptionally tasty strawberry emerged and has since been considered one of the most delicious in France! Its origin already proves it: (Gento×Ostara)×(Red Gauntlet×Korona) it is not a wild or alpine strawberry; the name has misled many enthusiasts! Harvest them ripe, and they are at their best! Because the plants are day-neutral, they can bear fruit throughout the growing season: keep them consistently in good condition, and from May-October there will be harvests (in flushes); only during a hot period will the plant take a break. Cultivation in pots is also very successful, and the variety is fairly disease-resistant.

Our strawberry collection partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only sparingly available. Therefore, the waiting time can be long. Annually in July, a new crop is potted by our grower, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can replenish part of this assortment. Please note that there will be postage costs for any backorders?
