AVAILABLE AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. (2012) A good selection from Fresh Forward, selected by Bert Meulenbroek. This variety is ideal for late cultivation on sandy soils. Jive forms a fairly compact, dark green crop with sufficiently long flower stalks. Late varieties produce runners late. The fruits are clearly visible, which facilitates harvesting. Heat does not bother the plant, provided there is enough water. The first fruits of Jive are large and elongated conical. Sometimes they are somewhat flattened. Subsequent fruits are uniform in size and retain their conical shape, they have a nice red color and good shine. The taste is good and only gets better in warmer weather. For the professional grower, good shelf life and resistance to transport are a clear advantage. Production is high: 30% more than most modern varieties. Jive is not very susceptible to powdery mildew.
Our strawberry collection consists partly of rare old varieties, which are only available in small quantities. So it may be that the waiting time is long. Annually in July, a new crop is potted by our grower, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can supplement a part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs may apply for any subsequent deliveries.
