German Giant 'Havelland'

  • Product number: 830353.1
  • Origin: Germany
  • Latin: Fragaria x ananassa

This old variety was formerly best known in the Havelland region (around Spandau, Potsdam, Brandenburg, and Rathenow) and was developed by the famous Institut für Obstforschung in Dresden-Pillnitz. The first fruits are very large; later harvests also yield fairly large fruits. Harvest them ripe and enjoy their sweet, pleasantly aromatic flavour. An ideal variety for the hobby grower! Our strawberry collection consists partly of rare old varieties, which are only available in small quantities. Therefore, the waiting time may be long. Every year in July, our grower pots a new crop, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can supplement part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs will apply for any subsequent deliveries.
