(1986) An intricate cross between common strawberries (x ananassa) and wild strawberries (vesca) with the aim of obtaining large strawberries with the attractive taste of wild strawberries. Florika does not produce many runners and therefore does not proliferate. The plants can remain in the same location for years, unlike most strawberries. This German cross was bred by Dr. Rudolf Bauer, but he was unable to witness the final result, as he passed away in 1983. The bright red, conical fruits have a very good taste; enjoy your production patch for years! Part of our strawberry collection consists of rare old varieties, which are only available in limited quantities. Therefore, the waiting time can be long. Each year in July, our grower pots a new crop, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can replenish part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs apply for any subsequent deliveries.
