'Dukat' is a very popular, mid-early strawberry known for its reliable and abundant harvest and its excellent, sweet taste. The fruits can be harvested from June to early July.
The strawberries are large, heart-shaped to slightly elongated, intensely red in color, and have a beautiful, subtle sheen. They contain a relatively high amount of dry matter and sugars, which ensures a full, very sweet and aromatic flavor. Delicious to eat fresh straight from the plant, but also excellent for desserts, jam, and other preparations.
This robust variety was introduced to the market in Poland in 1983 and was specifically bred to perform well in the European climate. In addition, 'Dukat' has a high natural resistance to grey mold (Botrytis) and root diseases, making it a reliable choice for the garden.
