Vineyard Strawberries 'Domkapitel Wurzen'

  • Product number: 830255.1
  • Origin: United States
  • Latin: Fragaria virginiana

The species originally comes from America and has been cultivated in Europe since 1900. The plant prefers a hot, relatively dry, and bare location. In 2008, this variety was discovered (by Klaus Olbricht) in a Domherrengarten in Wurzen. The fruits are at least two to three times larger than wild species! They are slightly sweet, full of aroma, and melt on the tongue... Our strawberry collection partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only sparingly available. Each year in July, a new crop is potted by our grower, which is delivered in September. In April-May, we can supplement part of this assortment.
