The blueberry-like fruits of this shrubby honeysuckle relative have a pleasant, sweet taste (with a slight tartness) and are eaten fresh (e.g., in a dessert) and (for centuries) processed into jam, juice, sauce or compote: very healthy! The berry is elongated and frosted blue. The shrub, over 1.5 m tall, grows best in sun to partial shade, in almost any moisture-retaining soil, and is not very susceptible to diseases.
The Boreal Blizzard is a vigorously growing, very hardy shrub originating from Canada. This variety produces exceptionally large, elongated blue-purple fruits with a sweet and fresh taste. The shrub grows upright and reaches a height of approximately 1.5 to 2 meters. Boreal Blizzard is not very susceptible to diseases and is known for its healthy and strong growth. For good pollination and high yields, a combination with Boreal Beast or Boreal Beauty is recommended.
