The blueberry-like fruits of this shrubby honeysuckle relative have a pleasant, sweet taste (with a slight tartness) and are eaten fresh (in a dessert, for example) and (for centuries) processed into jam, juice, sauce, or compote: very healthy! The berry is elongated and frosty blue. The bush, which grows over 1.5 m tall, thrives best in full sun (to light shade) in almost any moisture-retaining soil and is not very susceptible to diseases.
This variety, originally from Japan, can be harvested from mid-June to mid-July, making it a late variety for a Honeyberry. The berries have a delicious taste with a unique aftertaste of wild strawberries!
