Most of us (almost) all know the Rowan (re)cognise it... However, most are not edible or only slightly so. We now have spectacularly edible news: this variety ‘Burka’ produces large clusters of very large, wine-red berries, as large as a 2 euro coin! The small tree (4-6 m) is very attractive, with deep green pinnate leaves. This is actually a cross between the Rowan and the Chokeberry. Give the plants a sunny spot. The berries are edible fresh and can, of course, also be processed into jam, juice, wine, liqueur, etc.
