A beautiful, salmon-colored hybrid. Strong and "gorgeous"!
Eremurus, or CLEOPATRA'S NEEDLE, creates a unique effect in the garden! Its impressive height, combined with its slenderness, does not obstruct the view if you want to place it prominently at the front.
Originally, this relative comes from dry regions of Central Asia. Given this origin, the plant thrives under 3 conditions: good drainage, full sun, and (with an eye on flowering) a frost period in winter.
The unusual, starfish-shaped rhizome has its growth point in the center and is planted about 10 cm deep. In moist clay, a deeper pit should be made with a generous layer of drainage gravel, followed by some clay with potting soil, and then the tuber with the topsoil. Planting in a (artificially created) mound is also an option. In sandy soil, it is recommended to enrich the planting hole with potting soil or compost.
In spring, a rosette of blue-green leaves first forms, after which the beautiful flower clusters appear around the end of May (if there has been a frost). After flowering, the stems may be cut, but the leaves should, of course, be allowed to die off naturally.
