A bright white variety is anything but ordinary! The strong stems bear hundreds of small flowers. An easy-to-combine colour...

Eremurus, or CLEOPATRA'S NEEDLE, creates a special effect in the garden! Its impressive height is combined with slenderness, meaning it doesn't obstruct views if you want to place it prominently at the front.
Originally, this relative comes from dry regions of Central Asia. Given this origin, the plant loves 3 conditions: good drainage, full sun, and (with an eye on flowering) a period of frost in winter.
The unique, starfish-shaped rhizome has its growing point in the centre and is planted about 10 cm deep. In moist clay, a deeper hole should be made with a generous layer of drainage gravel, then some clay with potting soil, and finally the tuber with the topsoil. Planting in an (artificially created) mound is also an option. In sandy soil, it is recommended to enrich the planting hole with potting soil or compost.
In spring, a rosette of blue-green leaves first forms, after which, around late May (if there has been frost), the beautiful flower spikes appear. After flowering, the stems can be cut, but the foliage should naturally be allowed to die back.
