Littonia modesta
- Product number: 723900.1
- Origin: South Africa
- Latin: Littonia modeste
Those familiar with its South African cousin, the Gloriosa, will recognise the stems with tendrils and glossy leaves. The flower is quite different: an abundance of bright orange, 3-4 cm large bell-shaped blooms. After flowering, beautiful, elongated fruits develop, which, when ripe, are filled with red berries. Each berry contains a seed. The plant loves warmth and sun and retreats into its tuber in winter. You can keep it potted, making sure the root ball doesn't dry out completely. In spring, repot it in fresh soil, and the summer adventure begins anew!
