Pleasantly spicy with deep purple cotyledons and light purple stems. Adds surprise and decor to salads.
This variety is cultivated as a sprout or germinated vegetable (for the white germ) or as a microgreen (for the young plant with cotyledons or first true leaves). Germination takes place in the dark and warmth; the germinated sprouts can stay fresh in the refrigerator for a week, provided they are well-drained. Microgreens are grown on moisture-retaining material (paper towels, cotton wool, soil). For germination, dark and warm conditions are needed; after germination, light and cooler conditions.
