This perennial annually forms a full clump of narrow, grey-green lanceolate leaves. Just above these clumps, deep wine-red grass plumes emerge in summer, slowly ripening to lilac-pink and almost white. In that final stage, the wind blows the fluffy seeds into the air, searching for a place to germinate... Place the plants in a sunny spot; they also look beautiful in large pots or containers!
