A special grass for warm and dry places. The solution for establishing a lawn in continental climates and dry tropics. Buffalo grass forms very dense sods, rarely grows taller than 20 cm (1 or 2 mows...), and is also very frost-resistant. After frost, the grass does go dormant and loses its green color, but this faithfully returns after the soil warms up! In the dry central states of North America, this grass grows wild and was vital for the enormous bison herds (and therefore also for the Native Americans). Fire does not harm a prairie grass field; the plant even returns healthier! Bison grass does not like: shade, loose sandy soil, and overly cool summers. Try sowing some on the roof if you have a green roof!
