Although in the world this species is mainly known for its edible fruits, you can first enjoy the beautiful flowers: 8 cm in diameter with an outer corona, which is first lilac-blue and at the long ends white and curly.
Sowing passion flowers is a fascinating adventure! Regular supply of fresh seeds is important, otherwise germination will take a very long time or fail. Through cooperation with the National Collection Passiflora, we are assured of a successful and special assortment. The flowering period is usually in the summer, from May-November. In the plant's cycle, a sowing time of February-May is recommended, but with extra care, year-round sowing is possible. First soak the seeds for 1 day in milk, then sow in a airy mixture of 3/4 sifted peat moss and 1/4 washed sand, under cover of a hood or foil. Germination temperature 25-30°C, ventilate when the 1st set of leaves has formed. Most species produce fruit through cross-pollination; some self-pollinators are mentioned separately. Some species are resistant to our winters outdoors, others should be treated as container plants.
