Besides E. gunnii (which is a bit finer), this is one of the most popular species in the Eucalyptus genus, especially for cut foliage! Its blue-grey, waxy leaves are round and arranged in pairs on the stem with (as expected) a wonderfully fresh scent. The plant can be grown well in pots or in the garden. After a harsh winter, the plant will sprout again from the bottom. Pruning it back every 2 years is recommended.
One of the fastest and tallest growing trees in the world, spread from Australia (due to human intervention) across the entire (sub)tropical world. The leaves are almost always greyish and have a strong mint scent, caused by eucalyptus oil. This is used for inhalation and massage.
