What a peculiar palm! The trunk thickens into a bulbous bottle shape... this develops from the dying off of the lower leaves. The palm usually has no more than 10 leaves. This beauty originally grows on Round Island off the coast of Mauritius. The plant cannot tolerate cold, so if you put it outside in the summer, pay attention to the weather forecast! Give the plant very airy soil, as the palm does not appreciate being wet for too long.
