This Aloe is one of the hardiest concerning cold; light frost is well tolerated, but be careful! This succulent forms beautiful rosettes of flat, broad leaves (up to 40 cm). These are grey-green and develop red edges and a pink blush with sufficient sunshine. When the plants are old enough, they bloom with large clusters of hanging, tubular, orange-red flowers on purple-brown stems. The plant spreads by forming young plants around the mother plant. Give the plant a substantial, proportionally wide pot and mix at least 50% sand into the potting soil.
