Most verbenas produce small flower clusters; "hastata" means "spear-shaped," and the inflorescence of this beautiful species is an elongated cluster. Furthermore, this species possesses the characteristic open growth habit of common vervain, grows 60-90 cm tall, and features a beautiful mix of purple-blue, pink, and white spiky flower clusters that bloom from bottom to top. It's a very important plant for butterflies! As a medicinal herb: calming and diaphoretic. Blooms from June-September.
